ABOUT ME

Tony Bailey trained as a chemist and in 1983, after 20 years in the food industry, branched out into electronics, expanding his hobby as a licenced radio amateur although he is currently inactive. He has his own web site at www.tonybailey.co.uk

 

In 1988, he turned to the publishing industry and was also an internet programmer from its earliest days, having always been interested in and used/programmed computers since the 1970s. Working for a large Telecoms company for many years on a specialised programming project, he was awarded supplier recognition for his Innovation in programming in 1998.  He has also had a long interest in classic cars, particularly Jaguars, and in motor racing. He collected Jaguar automobilia for many years, at one time possessing the largest collection in the world. He is a founder member of the well known Jag-lovers web site.

 

In 2005, he devised the internet Mike Hawthorn Tribute Site and with much support from Hawthorn fans, turned it into the No 1 venue for Mike’s fans. This led to his acclaimed book 'Mike Hawthorn - Golden Boy', the complete story of Britain's first F1 World Champion, now republished again as a paperback.

 

Tony also turns his pen to writing both fact and fiction with 'The Churchil1 Veto' being his first novel. He lives with his wife near Hassocks in West Sussex.
